Marie (Estephan) Mardo, 100, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Grandview Center nursing home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Hikmat Mardo.

Born on December 24, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Bechara and Hanneh Estephan. She immigrated to America from Lebanon in the 1980s.

She is survived by seven children, Jamil Mardo and his wife Afaf of Lebanon, Jamileh Charbine and her late husband Raymond of Lebanon, George Mardo and his wife Cheryl of Cumberland, Georgette Hallak and her husband Joseph of North Providence, Michel Mardo and his wife Brenda of Cumberland, Charles Mardo and his wife Barbara of Cumberland, and Caroline and Robert Abi-Kharma. She was the loving grandmother to twenty-one (21) grandchildren and twenty-four (24) great grandchildren. She was the sister of Ivette Estephan as well as the late Estephan Estephan and Angelle Chammas.

She became a homemaker after the birth of her children. Her greatest joy came from taking care of others and she was committed to keeping all of her family and friends full with her signature middle eastern dishes. She was known for making everyone laugh and smile with her playful demeanor. Her greatest qualities, including her faith, strength, and resilience, will live in the hearts of her family forever.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at Saint Basil the Great Church 15 Skyview Drive, Lincoln, RI. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will also be held at the Church on Friday at 10:00 A.M. followed by a burial at St. Basil Cemetery, Cumberland, RI.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to St. Basil the Great Melkite Greek Catholic Church c/o capital fund. Arrangements are by the Keefe Funeral Home, Lincoln, RI.
